Ashley Goolsby
My name is Ashley Goolsby and I am the owner of WeeSwim School, a company dedicated to teaching survival swimming skills to infants and children. My goal is to provide the children of Pearland, Friendswood and Clear Lake with results-oriented swimming instruction that progresses from water safety to a lifetime of aquatic enjoyment.
I was a water baby and have always enjoyed being in the water. Born and raised in Houston, I started swimming competitively at the age of 12. I taught one-on-one swim lessons to 3-5 year olds with H2O Swims and assisted in coaching the 6-12 year old summer swim team. I also lifeguarded for the University of Houston outdoor pool and swam competitively for Houston's Lamar High School Redskins. I have a degree in Electrical Engineering from Baylor University and worked in the information technology business before returning to the water. Since the birth of my son in 2010, I am even more aware that these precious little lives are worth protecting from life-threatening water incidents. It gives me great satisfaction and pride to teach them the skills to be safe and have fun in the water.
I have completed an intense Infant Aquatics training course that included hands on, in-water training with a master instructor. This was combined with academic coursework in the psychology, physiology, and development of 6 month to 6 year olds and its application to swimming and water survival.
Many parents mistakenly put their trust in flotation devices and their own vigilance to protect their children around water, but what happens when you look away or the floaties aren't on? Your children deserve all the protection you can give. The Infant Aquatics program will give them the ability to survive on their own in the water and build a positive foundation for lifelong water enjoyment.
I am infant, child and adult CPR, AED, and First Aid certified through the American Red Cross.
- Lessons are conducted May - September.
- Registration for 2011 is completed.
- Registration for 2012 will begin in February.
- Each student receives 4 private 10 minutes lessons per week Monday - Thursday.
Infants
- $80 per week, $50 registration
- 16-24 lessons (4-6 weeks)
Toddlers and older children
- $80 per week, $50 registration
- 24-32 lessons (6-8 weeks)
