My name is Jennifer DeLaCruz and I teach infant aquatic survival in Fort Worth, Texas. I am dedicated to teaching children water safety techniques that will allow them to have confidence and enjoy the water safely. I am certified in adult, child, and infant CPR, and first aid.
Prior to teaching swimming I was an elementary school art teacher for several years until I had children. I have two daughters and have been fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom for the last few years.
I discovered Infant Aquatics after my older daughter fell into my mother's pool when she was only 20 months old. That was a huge wake up call for my husband and me and we were determined that she would learn how to swim. We enrolled her in the Infant Aquatics program with Bev Steinfink and were amazed at what she learned in only a few weeks. We were so impressed with her survival skills that I decided to train to become a survival swim instructor myself so that I too could teach these valuable skills. I completed an intensive six-week in-water training program as well as academic coursework to enable me to safely and effectively teach infants and young children lifesaving water skills. I loved the water growing up and was on the swimming and diving team in high school and college. And with my background in teaching, this profession seemed a perfect fit.
