Meet Our Staff

Here's what parents are saying about our instructors:

Judy's Staff"The instructors are warm, loving and beautifully bonded to each child. Carlene would kiss the babies on the forehead to praise their hard work in the water while whispering encouragement and affirmations in their ear. Cynthia was fun and always giggling with the children- almost singing their next instruction. These women are moms and are there to equip each child, emotionally and physically, with grace and love. They first earn the trust of the child, and then the child learns to trust him/herself in the water."
Nonie Rand

"I would like to compliment Cynthia and Carlene on a fantastic job keeping everything together and running the show smoothly while you were away this summer. They had multiple classes going with tons of parents, new kids and new classes and they did a great job. They were always so happy and helpful, and they worked together so well.  It must feel so good to have such wonderful people working for you. I was at the pool quite a bit, with Jackson doing his training with Carlene and going into Aquababies, and Sami starting a whole new class and graduating into  Fundays with Cynthia. GREAT job guys!   Thank you!!"

Comments on Cynthia Longo, IAS and Stroke Instructor

Cynthia LongoMy daughters both LOVE Cynthia. She is firm when she needs to be but also fun and silly and playful; her laugh is often heard ringing through the pool room. She is a warm, kind, loving mother and a gifted teacher who can sense when a little one really needs a hug. My girls are learning to have fun and be safe in the water from a person they love and respect...How good is that?
Diana Karowe

Cynthia posseses the perfect combination of persistence, patience and playfulness that allows my children to build confidence in their swimming while still having fun. She is great at giving clear instruction that is easy and fun for kids to follow. My 2 year old even pretends to swim with her when he is not in class!
Jennifer Wingate

Cynthia is a combination angel/mother to my kids in the pool. Her gentleness with my sons encouraged them to achieve more than they ever would. She took the frustration in learning something new out of the process. She has brought the joy of swimming to my two little boys and now my daughter.
Danielle Nevin

Comments on Carlene Schumacher, IAS Instructor

Carlene Schumacher"I enrolled both of my boys, ages 3 and 6 into Infant Aquatics after years of swim class failures. Under Carlenes' patient coaching both boys soon excelled at swimming, reaching levels we had not attained in five years of classes with other programs.
Tracy Pheneger

Carlene has played a pivotal role  in 2 year old Cullin's growth in Infant Aquatics. Maybe it's her sensibility as a grandmother of children in the program. He has totally bonded to her and comes to class each week saying, "Carlene is my best friend."

Comments on Julie Reiff, IAS Instructor

Julie ReiffSometimes it is hard entrusting your child's well being to someone else, but I have felt totally comfortable with Julie, her teaching style and how she handles Kyla while she is learning new and exciting skills involving swimming and water survival. I feel very grateful that we found your program, and that Julie is a part of it.
Chris Curton

Julie greeted Twyla every morning with a big smile, even though at the beginning of her lessons, the last thing Twyla wanted to do was get in the water. It paid off! By week 5, Twyla smiled and clapped her hands because she was so proud that she could swim-float-swim! Julie did a great job giving Twyla positive reinforcement, and I could tell how much Twyla trusted her by the way she hugged Julie in the pool.
Vivienne Wan

Orla began her first swimming lesson at 16 months old; she had never been taken care of by a "stranger". Over the course of her 6 weeks with Julie, Orla has found a new friend, developed amazing new swimming skills and gained a sense of accomplishment. It was clear to me that Julie truly enjoyed teaching my daughter such important skills and exciting to watch Orla's growth as she became eager to please Julie and learn to swim-float-swim.

Comments on Shannon McBride, Stroke Instructor

Shannon McBrideSophia adores Shannon. She uses just the right combination of encouragement and constructive criticism, which makes her that much more sincere in her coaching. Sophia's swimming has come miles in just a few short months. We are so grateful for Shannon!
Kristen Solomon

Zachary actually refused to go to soccer camp if it meant missing swimming for a week! Shannon is a fantastic swimmer who is able to impart her knowledge in a clear way that works for young kids. She has been unfailingly patient and gentle, yet kept the kids focused and interested.  A rare teaching gift!

This 4-week program teaches infants six to twelve months to roll over from a face down or submerged position onto their backs to relax and breathe, while fully clothed, in preparation for joining a group Aquababies class. Infant Aquatics (12 months - 4 years)
$24 per private 10 minute lesson
24 lesson commitment
$80 one-time registration fee

This 6-week program teaches toddlers and younger children the swim-float-swim sequence. Children will learn to swim a short distance with face fully submerged, to roll onto their back to float and rest whenever they need to breathe, and to flip back onto their tummy to continue to swim to safety while fully clothed. The swim-float-swim sequence serves as the foundation for future stroke development and prepares our students to advance into our Aquababies and FunDay group lessons. Lessons are one-on-one, 4 days a week (M-Tu-W-Th), 10 minutes long for 6 consecutive weeks.
Cost: $576 + registration fee

Swim Wizards (4 years and up)
$48 per private 20 minute lesson
12 lesson commitment
$80 one-time registration fee

This program is for children 4 years and older. Because older children have more stamina and longer attention spans, their private one-on-one lessons are 20 minutes long. Children will learn to perform the swim-float-swim sequence in deep water for 30-50 feet in preparation for introductory stroke technique group classes. They will be able to perform all of their skills while fully clothed. In addition, they have the option of attending either 2 days a week (M/W or Tu/Th) for 6 consecutive weeks or our fast track program consisting of 4 days a week (M-Tu-W-Th) for 3 consecutive weeks.
Cost: $576 + registration fee
