Nathalie Rojas

Hello, my name is Nathalie Rojas, I am from Mexico City, but I've been living in Laredo since 1992. I am a graduated from Texas A&M International University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. I am married and mother of 3 boys. Laredo is a very hot city during spring and summer, and we enjoy being in the pool. For this reason, in 2002, I decided that I got certified by the American Red Cross to become a Swimming Safety Instructor and since then I've been teaching children ages 3 years and up and giving "mommy and me" classes for infants, not knowing about the Infant Aquatic Program.

In 2010, I decided to train with Infant Aquatics, having found them over the internet. The Infant Survival Technique to teaches infants from 6 months to 6 years, how to swim-float-swim in any situation. I completed a very rigorous training program in Dallas, Texas, with Instructor Beverly Steinfink, R.N ; as my supervisor, over 100 hours in-water training and over 100 hours learning the physiology, psychology, and development of the child between the ages of 6 months to six years as they apply to swimming and water survival. I am also certified in adult, child and infant CPR and First Aid by the American Red Cross.

Since the, I've been teaching year round the course to many children in Laredo, Texas. Then, in 2013, we moved to Mexico City and I am happy to teach the technique with babies in the area.

The leading cause of accidental death in Texas is drowning, and 50% of the homes in Laredo have swimming pools. In Mexico, the 77% of drowning children had been seen 5 minutes before they were found them in the pool. I feel it is very important to give your child the ability to survive on their own in the water, and build a positive foundation for lifelong water enjoyment. I would love to share this gift of swimming with your family.
