When most of us are enjoying time at the pool or beach, an aquatic incident is not the first thing on our minds. Yet, drowning is the second leading cause of accidental injury or death for young children ages 1 to 4. Three children die every day as a result of drowning.*
According to a study conducted in 2009 and cited in the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, participation in formal swimming lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by 88% among children aged 1 to 4 years.
Fortunately, parents can play a key role in protecting the children they love from drowning while giving them an opportunity to participate in a fun activity that fosters self confidence, builds positive self esteem and can be enjoyed by the whole family. Your child deserves the lifetime gift of swimming! The Infant Aquatics program was founded by a group of swimming instructors dedicated to teaching survival swimming skills. They teamed up to create nationally recognized program that educates new instructors, provides lessons for young children, and helps to advocate for the prevention of childhood drowning.
About Emilly
I am a Littleton, Colorado native with a degree is in Early Childhood Development and a certified Montessori preschool teacher. I have completed over 100 hours of in water training, utilizing child development and behavioral techniques, as they apply to teaching infants and young children to swim and survive in the water. My introduction to the Infant Aquatics program was through an amazing two-year experience, as a nanny, for children who began the program at the ages of 6 and 18 months.
I am amazed by the skills that even the youngest of swimmers are capable of. I am lucky that I have the opportunity to go to work every day and do something that I love. I feel strongly that every child should learn how to safely enjoy the water! I am thrilled to combine my love for the water and my skills, as an early childhood educator and Montessori teacher, to bring such a dynamic swimming program to families in the South Metro Denver area.

What Parents and Children are Saying About Infant Aquatics South Metro
"I enrolled my 2 daughters in this program about 4 months ago. We have been extremely impressed with the progress they have made in this short amount of time. They LOVE Miss Emilly!!! They have become very confident in the water. We are excited to continue throughout the year. Emilly is very patient with the kids but keeps them focused focused. I would highly recommend her program to EVERYONE who wants their children to be comfortable and safe in the water." AG"I enrolled my son just before he turned 1 in the infant swimming survival program with Emilly. They are 10 minute sessions which are just the right amount of time for baby attention spans. Emilly is amazing with my son...he cries when he's in the water, yet Emilly remains very calm and talks to him and sings to him, and I can honestly say that I am now very comfortable having him around water because I know that if some accident were to happen, he knows what he needs to do to float and get air. She is willing to work with me on payments for the class which helped me a ton and I plan to continue my son's swimming lessons with her for a long time!" JC
"Thank you so very much for all that you have taught our son this summer. It is amazing to see his growth each and every day. You have helped him grow in his swimming abilities and confidence, and we are so appreciative of that!" Kate
"Thank you for teaching me how to swim. First I was really scared but you made me feel safe." Phebe
"Words cannot explain how thankful and grateful we are for your teaching. There is something unique and special about you and I see that all the kids "feel it". I truly think you are one of a kind!" Julie
What are the Benefits of a Salt Water Pool?
A saline purification system maintains healthy water, while eliminating the risks and problems associated with periods of very high or low Chlorine levels. The saline system eliminates the need to transport and store 'pool-chlorine' type chemicals and instead uses only pure natural salt. While salt water pools still contain Chlorine the process in which it is generated provides an environmentally safe alternative to traditional systems as well as increased health benefits to swimmers. Salt water pools have approximately one-tenth the salinity of ocean water and about one-third the salinity of human tears. Swimmers enjoy the soft feel of the water. It is soothing to skin and hair as well as gentler on the eyes and nose. There is no unpleasant chlorine smell, which has been found in studies to have adverse effects on growing lungs.Empower your child with water safety skills that will last a lifetime! Call Emilly at 720-215-8849 for more information about enrolling your child in lessons.
