We are proud to announce the addition of an outstanding new instructor to our ranks. Michaele Mather, currently an RN at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, trained with Judy Heumann in January and February. As a mother of a toddler, and an RN working with mothers and babies in Labor and Delivery and the NICU, Michaele is passionate about the importance of teaching aquatic survival to infants and young children. During her training, it was evident that Michaele has a true gift for working with children. She plans to return to her home state of New Jersey in the near future and serve the areas of Morris and Passaic counties and writes, "I'm very excited about the opportunity to take the skills I already possess as an RN working with babies, and apply them as a swim instructor with Infant Aquatics/Swim-Float-Swim!"

Scott Virden, a certified USA swim coach with decades of experience coaching competitive swimmers and teaching stroke mechanics, traveled from Kansas City to train with Judy Heumann this fall. Scott is the father of three grown children, and has a degree in Education and Physical Education. He will be bringing his newly acquired skills back to his swim team, Kansas City Swim Academy, to provide essential water safey skills to the youngest members of his community.
To accommodate an ever increasing demand for lessons at Swim•Float•Swim! Judy also trained Debbie Torok to join her staff. Debbie brought her grandchildren to lessons and was amazed at what they were able to learn in only a few weeks. Debbie's love for children and water, and passion for teaching make her a natural fit and perfect addition to our team.

Howdy from Texas where everything is bigger and better than ever. Say hi to all our new instructors from north and south of the border. From Mexico, Alejandra and Paty Guzman Fierro, are teaching in Cancun and Puebla, Mexico. These sisters are a big asset to Infant Aquatics. Paty, an experienced physical therapist, decided that aquatics and children needed to be in her future. She traveled to Dallas, stayed 6 weeks for training, and has now added Infant Aquatics to her resume. Or go see Alejandra, (Ale) to teach your kids while on vacation in Cancun. If you're lucky, Ale, a former chef on a cruise ship, will give you the recipe to her famous tacos, as well as teach your children needed swim, float, swim techniques.
If you are near Monterrey , Mexico, drop in and say hola to Maria Valenzuela. She is a very experienced instructor and is doing a bang up job teaching with Ana Cardenas at ENAI. We are really lucky to have found Maria.
Traveling north, between Dallas and Fort Worth, you'll find Kona Morren , a life -long swimmer and strong proponent of infant aquatics and water safety. You can talk to Kona at flipkick.org where she will explain the whole program to those who live in the mid-cities. You can also visit her at infantaquatics.com.
If you are near Waco, give Jen Price a ring; or a text. At Infant Aquatics of Waco, Jen brings warmth and patience to her lessons, and will be a great asset to our team. Let her teach your infant or toddler all the skills that her own children learned. A mother of three, Jen forego experience in the pharmaceutical industry to teach these valuable skills to infants and toddlers in her area. Visit her at infantquatics.com.
If you are in Austin, or the Marble Falls /Horseshoe Bay Area, contact Courtney Stanley. Courtney is a whiz and brings much exuberance to the lessons. Contact Courtney to find out her spring schedule as she will be adding another Stanley boy into the mix. If she's not changing a diaper, she'll be happy to tell you all about her program and what she brings to the area just west of Austin. She will be joining the website soon.
Last but not least, Kathleen and Bruce McMordie have opened up an Infant Aquatics facility. Located at 3514 Greenbusch in Katy, the Texas Swim Academy is the first of its kind in the state. Since opening her own dedicated teaching facility in Longmont last fall, the demand for lessons led Judy Heumann to train two new instructors to join her existing staff. Julie Reiff joins Infant Aquatics as a parent of Beckett (3 years) and Tegan (9 months). After attending several sessions of Rec Center lessons with Beckett in 2009, Julie enrolled in Infant Aquatics so that Beckett could learn aquatic survival skills. She enjoyed swimming with Beckett so much that she decided that she would like to spend time in the water teaching other children these skills. Julie is a professional dog obedience trainer who is very talented in recognizing the needs of each child during lessons.
The spring session was so busy that Judy was also able to train her eldest son Derek as an instructor. Derek has a Masters degree in environmental law, and was interested in learning the teaching methods his mother has been developing for the past 35 years. Derek has a gentle, fun way of interacting with the children, who all adore him. Welcome Julie and Derek!

TexasThere is exciting news out of Texas! As you all know, Texas is a big state, and we need many more instructors to teach infants and toddlers here. Toward that end, we would like to announce that we have 2 new instructors; Nathalie Rojas, will be serving the greater Laredo area. Nathalie is fluent in Spanish and will be assisting us in that regard as we have students both from Texas and Mexico who speak Spanish. Nathalie's school is Laredo Infant Aquatics, and you can click here to find her contact information on this site.
Also, Leslie Fiscus, will be teaching in CorpusChristi and surrounding areas. Leslie is right on the ocean, where there is much concern about water safety. Leslie will really be an asset to our south Texas area with KidSwim USA. She will be up on the website soon.
A change for those who follow the website regularly: Ana Cardenas has moved to Louisiana. Ana taught in Monterrey, Mexico, and was very successful. However, love got in the way and Ana got married. To reach Ana, who serves Thibideaux and Baton Rouge, click here. Ana is fluent in Spanish -- now she needs to learn a little Cajun.
And last but not least, Cindy Clark, of Aquatykes in Frisco, Tx, completed training as a Principal instructor. She joins Bev Steinfink as our newest instructor trainer for the Texas region. Steffi, a research biologist, decided to train after learning of the drowning of a neighbor's two year old in their back yard pool. We now have an instructor in Monterrey , Mexico. Ana Cardenas is a woman of many talents. A former graphic designer, she decided that teaching swimming was for her after seeing a video of a child performing a swim/ float/ swim, then attended the same type lesson with her best friend in Dallas Texas. Watching her friend's son learn to float on his back cinched the decision for Ana. She came to Dallas and is now teaching the children of Monterrey to do the same swim/float/swim she had seen on the internet. The name of Ana's business is ENAI or Escuala de Natacion y Autorescate Infantil. Look for her website at www.enai.com.mx.
